I just wanted to report on a song that I encountered in the realm of Miyasaki Hayao, the great director of Studio Ghibil which has produced some amazing deep Japanese animations of the likes of Totoro, Howl’s Moving Castle, and Spirited Away.
The greatness of these movies also originate from their amazing original soundtracks which were for the most part composed by Joe Hisaishi, a true great in the realm of music.
This track is called the Legend of Ashitaka from the animation, Princess Mononoke. I fell in love with it even before I saw the animation itself.
For, the song fills you with a sense of honor and duty enduring in the midst of the vastness, the complexities, and the challenges of life. Watching the movie will no doubt show you the intentions of Miyasaki and Hisaishi, but I would first recommend that you listen to it just as it is.
Godwilling it will fill you all with the sense of beauty, persistence, and honor that is needed on our journeys through life.
